My Origin Story

The Full Story

Renata Mikolajczyk-Collinson is a visionary leader in the field of transformational therapy, an accomplished healthcare professional, and the founder of Phoenix Medical Clinic, a European Centre of Medicine.

Her journey has been one of resilience, reinvention, and an unwavering commitment to healing. Establishing the clinic as a private medical centre with departments covering general practice, dentistry, gynaecology, orthopaedics and mental health services, she ensured that quality care was accessible to many.

However, despite her success in managing the clinic, she felt a sense of disconnection, that more could be done, something was still missing—she was facilitating care but not directly involved in changing lives.

Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, Renata recognised the urgent need for mental health services and took the initiative to introduce a dedicated department, hiring two psychologists. Patients began seeking help, and while it was a step forward, she still felt there was something missing. She was not a doctor or psychologist herself—her expertise lay in healthcare management—but she longed to contribute beyond administration.

Then, COVID-19 changed everything.

Renata was one of the first to be severely affected by the virus and was hospitalised during the early days of the pandemic. The experience was harrowing—she witnessed people dying around her while battling her own deteriorating health. With medical knowledge about the virus still limited, she was given only paracetamol and oxygen as treatment. A CT scan revealed severe fluid build-up in her lungs, and her body began to fail—her liver, her heart, even her hair. She came to terms with the possibility that she might not survive.

But she did. A GP from her clinic, believing that according to his knowledge a severe pneumonia should be treated with an appropriate medicines, secretly provided her with antibiotics, hidden inside a box of grapes.

With no official treatment available, this act of kindness became her lifeline.

Slowly, she recovered physically, but the real battle began after she left the hospital. Her mind was in disarray—her memory shattered, her cognitive function impaired. Simple decisions became overwhelming, and she struggled to regain control of her life. There was no medical guidance available for what she was experiencing at that time. No one knew how to help.

In the depths of this struggle, Renata refused to surrender. She knew she had to find a way forward. That’s when she discovered Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Without hesitation, she enrolled in an intensive course, hoping to regain her mental clarity. The training also included life coaching and hypnosis—unexpected yet powerful tools that she embraced with an open mind.

Despite her initial struggles, she persisted. Through rigorous practice with fellow trainees over Zoom, she started noticing changes. Her speech improved. Her memory sharpened. She regained control over her mind. And in a remarkable turn of events, she passed the final exam, becoming a certified NLP Master practitioner.

That was just the beginning.

Recognising her natural ability in this field, Renata pursued further training. She attended face-to-face courses in London and Los Angeles, trained in hypnosis also with Shelly Stockwell-Nicolas, the founder of the American Association of Hypnosis. She immersed herself in life coaching and, most recently, trained with Connirea and Tamara Andreas in Core Transformation Therapy and Wholeness. These methods, a unique blend of NLP and hypnosis, enables profound personal transformation, often achieving in a single session what traditional therapy might take years to accomplish.

Armed with these new skills, Renata realised that her true calling extended beyond running a medical clinic—she was meant to actively heal people. She began offering NLP and clinical hypnotherapy services alongside conventional medical treatments, witnessing life-changing transformations. Many of her clients had spent years in therapy with little to no progress, only to experience breakthroughs within a few sessions with her. One client, a high-level banker, had battled alcoholism for years, consuming a bottle of vodka daily despite various mental health therapies including psychiatric treatment. After working with Renata, her life changed completely.

Reflecting on her journey, Renata sees how every step led her to this point. Growing up in communist Poland, she had dreamed of becoming a doctor, but an unfair points-based education system made that impossible.

She later moved to the UK for her daughter’s private education in music and scholarship she was offered, travelling back and forth to Poland to finish her Master’s Degree. Her career took her through roles in human rights, international relations consultancy, and local government before she finally opened her own clinic. But it was her near-death experience with COVID-19 that truly set her on the path of healing.

Today, Renata is a fully qualified life coach, NLP Master Practitioner, Core Transformation Specialist and Clinical Hypnotherapist. She is Certified in Applied Neuroscience Level 2 and professionally registered with ANLP, IHF, ILM for Life Coaches and ICBCH.

Renata named her clinic Phoenix, and like the mythical bird, she rose from the ashes. More than that, she resonated with the legend that the tears of the phoenix possess healing properties. In that hospital bed, as she fought for her life, she shed tears—and from that moment, her journey as a healer truly began.

Now, Renata is expanding her work beyond the clinic. She has launched her own practice, Tree of Life Transformational Therapies, and is also dedicated to supporting women who have suffered from abuse. Together with two other professionals, she is creating a safe space for women to heal, with the long-term vision of establishing a charity. The response has been overwhelming.

She has also opened a practice in London, specialising in Wholeness and Core Transformation Therapy. This revolutionary method remains largely unknown but has the potential to redefine mental health treatment. Unlike traditional therapy, which often increases awareness without real change, Ultimate Core Transformation and Wholeness work at the deepest level, rewiring the mind for lasting transformation.

Her latest development is the introduction of an Ultimate Transformational Programme, designed for high achievers who value personal growth and lasting change. They are successful, driven individuals who have tried other approaches but are now ready to invest in a deep, life-changing transformations. They seek a premium, results-focused experiences that align with their commitment to living their best lives. This is a bespoke program of advanced therapies, which enables her clients to finally break patterns and actualise the changes they are craving.

Renata believes in this work wholeheartedly. She sees the results every day. She knows that this is what she was always meant to do.

Her story, like the Phoenix, is one of rebirth. And now, her mission is to help others rise from their own ashes, rediscover their strength, and transform their lives.
